Softball Game Rules
- Softball plays by the same general rules as baseball (i.e. strikes, outs, positions, etc.)
- Our game rules are adjusted slightly in each division. Below is an abbreviated summary of our game rules. Please refer to the Game Rules documents for your division for full details
Minors (K-2) |
Key Highlights:
Starting with the 7th Game: Each team will have 3 outs per inning 3-out / 5-run rule is in effect
After four swinging strikes the batter is out. |

Key Highlights: Pitching: Pitchers must wear a face mask at all times Pitchers must begin their delivery on the pitching rubber which will be 35 ft away from home plate Pitcher cannot pitch more than 3 innings in a game Gameplay: There is no stealing Batters can bunt |

Key Highlights: Players pitch the innings entirely without coach pitch Walks and strikeouts will be counted 3-out / 5-run inning is still enforcedAll practice and game balls shall be 12 inch “hard” softballs. Pitching: Pitchers must wear a face mask at all times Pitchers must begin their delivery on the pitching rubber which will be 40 ft away from home plate Pitcher cannot pitch more than 3 innings in a game
Gameplay: Stealing 2nd and 3rd base is permitted Batters can bunt Base runners may slide |
